Allison Hunter
Journalism Program Manager
ALLISON HUNTER is the journalism program manager for the Scripps Howard Fund.
Allison enjoys leveraging the communication and management skills she exercised during her 30+ year career as a news and film producer, executive, and instructor to build relationships that benefit education-based initiatives and their students.
Her passion for sharing accurate information as a way of improving lives led to her spearheading and helping develop a media training camp, a paid summer internship program, and other experiential learning opportunities while supervising the newsroom of PBS/NPR member station WOUB Public Media in Athens, Ohio.
Prior to working in higher education, Allison managed content and staff in some of the nation’s busiest newsrooms including Los Angeles, Chicago, and Boston.
The mother of two is a bonafide #Scrippskid earning both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University.
