Capitol Broadcasting signs with Newsy for millennial-focused video news offering

Dec. 10, 2015 By Rebecca McCarter

CINCINNATI – Capitol Broadcasting Company, Inc., has entered into an agreement with over-the-top video news service Newsy to publish its daily news videos across three of Capitol Broadcasting’s news websites: WRAL.com, WRALSportsFan.com and HighSchoolOT.com.

Newsy is the fast-growing millennial-focused journalism enterprise that brings perspective and analysis to reporting on world and national news, including politics, entertainment, science and technology. Newsy is a wholly owned subsidiary of The E.W. Scripps Company (NYSE: SSP).

“Partnering with other innovative media companies is core to our mission to change the face of millennial-focused news in the digital age,” said Blake Sabatinelli, general manager of Newsy. “Capitol Broadcasting, with its long history of excellence in journalism, is a natural fit as we expand our footprint across platforms.”

Newsy content is also featured on 30+ websites of Raycom Media, one of the nation’s largest broadcasters, and the daily news websites of its parent company, Scripps. This is in addition to Newsy’s distribution across seven leading OTT platforms including, most recently, Apple TV. Apple named Newsy a “Best New App” in the News category upon the launch of the new Apple TV platform in October.
