Dean Littleton is president of media at The E.W. Scripps Company. In this role, he oversees the company’s complete television business: its local media portfolio of approximately 60 TV stations, its national Scripps Networks division – including ION and the company’s portfolio of multicast and digital networks – and Scripps News, the company’s 24/7 national streaming news service.
Littleton stepped into this newly created role in July 2026, having served previously as executive vice president of media broadcast operations and senior vice president of Local Media, where he led local media and managed affiliate relationships. Before that, Littleton was general manager of Scripps’ ABC affiliate KMGH Denver7 and KCDO The Spot in Denver. During his time as general manager of KMGH, the station won numerous national journalism awards including the National Edward R. Murrow Overall Excellence Award for Large Markets in 2019 and 2020 and the Heartland Emmy Award for Overall Excellence in 2020.
Before joining Scripps in 2017, he was general manager at WATE-TV in Knoxville (2013-2017) and general sales manager at WVLT-TV in Knoxville (2008-2013), KUSA-TV in Denver (2007-2008) and WBIR-TV in Knoxville (2000-2007). He started his career as a news photographer/editor at WBIR.
Littleton serves as immediate past chair of the ABC Affiliate Board of Governors, immediate past chair of the Colorado Broadcasters Association and previously served as a board member of the Scripps Howard Fund, the philanthropic arm of The E.W. Scripps Company.
Littleton is a graduate of the University of Tennessee. He lives in Denver with his wife, Amber, and has a daughter, Olivia, in college at the University of Oregon.
