WEWS NewsChannel 5 Earns 1st Place Honors

 NewsChannel 5 received 4 awards, including 3 first place honors, in the Ohio SPJ (Society of Professional Journalists) Awards 2007.  The SPJs recognize the best of Ohio’s print, radio, and television journalism. “We’re thrilled that our investigative work is being noticed not only by our viewers, but by our peers,” comments Marketing Director Peter Noll.  “And we’re very excited that our website won top honors.  Ours was the first television website in Cleveland back in the 90s, and we continue to break new ground with internet technology as an integral tool of delivering breaking news, weather, and entertainment to our users.” The complete list of NewsChannel 5’s Ohio SPJ awards is as follows:
