Recruiting Process

Scripps strives to hire well-qualified candidates who add to the diverse fabric of our company.

Promotion from within
You'll find that we post our jobs internally for current employees to consider first; we prefer to promote from within as often as possible.

Career center
After we post our open positions internally, we then post them on our external career center and at other proven sources. Our objective is to spread the net broadly to attract candidates who can contribute quickly once given the necessary tools and training.

Your profile
Once you've identified a position of interest, please complete and submit a brief profile for our consideration. We encourage you to cut and paste your resume directly into the profile you create on the career center, saving you time from recreating the information and ensuring we receive key details about your work experiences and education.

Acknowledgement
You'll receive an e-mail confirming that we've received your profile. We will call you if we have questions about your background or an interest in scheduling an interview.

Telephone interview
We may ask you to agree to a time to talk over the telephone to learn about you and for you to learn more about the open position and our company.

On-site interview
If we determine that you are a viable candidate for the open position of interest to you, we'll schedule a time for you to meet with the appropriate individuals. Our goal is to secure a realistic evaluation of your candidacy and to involve key stakeholders in the process.

Online employment application
Generally, it is at this time in the recruiting process that we ask you to complete our online employment application. We'll send you an e-mail with the message to return to the career center to complete the application. Completing our online application is a streamlined process; as much of the information you provided in your profile will automatically populate the application.

Assessments
We may ask you and other candidates to answer some job-specific questions. The answers provide us with even more insight into your qualifications.

Evaluation Process
The interview process is just one consideration in determining if you are the best candidate for our open position. We typically complete reference calls and background checks. All candidates who receive an offer of employment must successfully pass a pre-employment drug test.
